Moving on to Renaissance Tapestry, bold patterns with sweeping lines and decorative emphasis became the new trend. Designs featured Renaissance architecture and Flemish floral backgrounds with a lot of open space and more shading to give the effect of light and dark. Tapestries also changed in color scheme with the new period changing from Gothic red to color harmonies with white and yellow. There was a heavy influence of the Italian Renaissance encourage by Brussels designers due to Raphael’s appreciation and admiration for the culture.
