    Thomas wakes up in a dark metal box with only the memory of his name. Doors open overhead to reveal a community of teenage boys living on a large farm land surrounded with very high walls. The boys call this place “The Glade”. On the outside of the glade, is gigantic maze that has monsters called Grievers populating it. Each month, a new boy arrives in this metal box to the Glade. Every weeks supplies is brought up through the elevator that Thomas rides. Thomas quickly learns that there are these Grievers outside in the Maze. If one of these monsters stings you, you will go through the “Changing”. This process is very traumatizing. Thomas meets the leader of the Glade and his second in command, Alby and Newt.
