    only extracurriculars I had been involved in during that time was soccer and robotics, yet I was told by my teacher that I would not pass the test that allows me to go to the fourth grade. Looking back I see this school system of testing students just so they can go to the next grade despite earning sufficient grades to pass, is archaic and should be changed due to it damaging ability on students willing to learn. Yet the third-grade version of myself had not seen it as that, he saw it as a school system that should be challenged not changed, and thus began working day and night to pass the final test with flying colors. I remember that I needed to receive an eighty percent on the test to move on to the next grade, I would no longer play video games after I had finished my homework, but instead, I chose to study for the test. I wouldn’t choose to stop till it was dinner time, yet sometimes I would eat dinner at my desk as I studied carefully making sure not to spill onto the worksheets. Giving it my best, facing a challenge is only half of the equation in perseverance, the other half, the force multiplier, is succeeding. Having studied for extended periods of time, I felt prepared for the test, I felt nervous my leg was vibrating, my hand cramping as the test went on. And when the results were handed out, I found out I had passed the test performing in the top five out of two hundred students, proving to my third-grade teacher that I would go onto the fourth grade.
