The novel, Monster, tells the experience of a young boy, Steve, while enduring his trial and time in jail. Steve is a teen, black boy who enjoys filmmaking. Unfortunately, he is on trial for a felony murder. Filmmaking is his crutch as he goes through this misfortune.
