he was still able to conquer adversity, due to his unique and mystical approach to not only teaching, but life as well. He does this by engaging his students, and engaged his students by teaching critical life skills like creativity, problem solving, responsibility, passion, self investment to a larger cause, and craftsmanship. He also pressed that he does his best to try and make the class work relevant and applicable to the real world, as “No one wants to learn about something they’re not interested in.” He uses high energy, countless life stories about his checkered and exciting past, appealing to learning styles, and, again, proving relevancy as a cornucopia of different tools to access students’ minds and help them learn more. Teaching also taught him, however, the power of collaborating with other people on real/meaningful things, and that working with others is often the greatest and most foliage free path of learning. He succeeds at connecting with students (from the best to the worst kinds) by making sure they know they always have a clean slate once they walk through his classroom door. He also does his best to empower them with knowledge, intervene when necessary, read personalities, and understand how and why teenagers do what they do. Teaching has also made him more insightful of the effects that global events have on the younger generations, the hurt inflicted by misinformation, and the power of potential and possibilities within young minds. These are all…

    1. Lines from this portion of my story work such as, “Terry sat upon the porcelain god, reading a Science Daily magazine” and “Then in an unseen instant – the roof popped and cracked in a blaze of glory as everything went up into a cloud of sizzling smolder.” – These lines work because they focus in on the comedic tone that I was looking to convey through the story and they show rather than tell. I think that more lines like this could make the story feel more natural. 2. In this portion of the…

The transition to measure 27 was smooth and efficient. In the “Polar Express” section, there could have been more dynamic change and even more volume in general. However, the underlying percussion part gave the section an energetic, upbeat feel. At measure 91, the flute countermelody and the trumpet melodies were not together at all. The flute section…
