Over spring break, I took a trip to Swaziland, Africa. One of the days I was there, I went on a safari ride. The people in my group and I were a little nervous about the ride just because there are some huge, scary animals out there. The first thing our tour guide said to us was, “Don’t worry about it, the safari car is very safe and the animals are used to people coming through here.” The car was pretty big, seating our whole group plus an experienced driver. It had four tall doors and a few metal bars going up the side of the roof. There wasn’t any netting around the outside of the truck, which made us a little nervous. We all loaded into the safari trucks and our tour guide explained the rules and regulations of being on the ride. I was excited to go on the ride because back in America, we don’t have these kinds of animals. We started along the bumpy road and right away we went through the rhino camp and saw some big male rhinos crossing the path. The driver said that this area and a pond behind the trees was where the rhinos all live. They were huge, strong, beautiful creatures. We stopped for a minute to take pictures of them basking in the sunlight and playing in their watering hole. We kept driving on and eventually passed through all the different camps of all the different animals. We saw lions, tigers, zebras, giraffes, and many more amazing African animals.
