    A part of President Eisenhower’s new deal was the creation of the Tennessee Valley Authority, or TVA. TVA, founded in 1933, was a region in the Tennessee River valley with “hydroelectric powered dams” that powered cities around them. This created more jobs and stopped flooding which got as high as six feet each year. By building these dams, power was generated to more farm based areas so the citizens were able to live off of electric. A benefit to TVA was that it helped with soil not being washed away. With all of the rain soil was being eroded at a very high rate, the dams prevented floods which made soil stay in its place. In total they built 35 dams, it spreads through seven states.
