Televangelism is an example of the manipulation of religion for selfish reasons such as fame, money, and power. It is also the fault of gullible followers that these dogmatic speakers are so “successful”. People today have made little progress and throughout history repeatedly use God as a resource, just like the Anglo-Saxons used God as a resource. Televangelists use their influence to collect fame and renown as well as unintended infamy in some cases. One of the most notorious televangelists, Oral Roberts, has written many books on self-help, maintaining righteousness, and more. On the cover of Oral Robert’s book “Miracles of Seed Faith” and many of his other books, there is a very large picture of him and his name is almost bigger than the…

Televangelism refers to the use of the television for preachers and ministers to communicate their religious views to the masses. Using this method, the televangelists can reach not only their local congregation of worshipers, but all who have access to the network in which the sermons are shown. This is where Televangelism comes to play. Televangelism is a dated but still booming mini-economy that plays on peoples hopes, similar to Fordism in Brave New World, and coaxes them into submission to sacrifice their money, privacy, and valuable…

history of fire-eating, stump-speaking, American political and social advocates is a long and rich one. One of the most famous was actually a US president–Andrew Jackson. After his loss in 1824 in what people called the “corrupt bargain” of an election, he and his followers began a vicious, mudslinging campaign against John Quincy Adams. This is not unlike some of Trump’s campaign strategies: only, instead of accusing his fellow Republicans of seeing a European full-service sex worker, he calls…

according to my survey only thirty-one percent of those loyal attendees will seek out a church to attend while at college. It was even more interesting to see that even less, twenty-one percent plan to be involved in any type of campus ministry. In my experience, I was raised in a Christian home in the late sixties through the mid eighties. I am a fourth generation Christian, meaning, my great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents, and myself were all Christians. My sister and brother each…
