For project 2, the plan was to attend a seminar of some sort regarding estate planning. Chris Hogan, one of Dave Ramsey’s personalities, was here towards the end of March but his speaking arrangement wasn’t centered solely around estate planning and instead, was more of a “smart money” event about getting out of debt etc. After doing some research, I found several different seminars that will be taking place locally next month around the Salt Lake Valley, but since the semester will be over by then, I turned my attention to seeking one out online. It amazes me how advanced technology is and how there are so many different topics to discover online. By simply heading over to YouTube and searching for “estate planning seminars” dozens of options were available to choose from. Sadly, and I hate doing this, I chose the first one simply because it wasn’t super short or super long and the title was exactly what I typed into the search browser. “Don’t leave your executors stranded on a desert island” was the caption for this video and quite honestly it focused on that topic at great length. The first thing that caught my attention was at the beginning (after changing names, ages etc.) The presenter emphasized to make sure you fully trust your executor and then laid out personal examples of how and why this is important. A young man was an executor that also had power of attorney privileges for his mother. He moved her 30 minutes out of the city and into a nursing home. During…

The steps I would take to initiate a productive teleconference would be to first off to formulate a successful plan, before heading towards the issue of the problem straight-on. As Wade…

In this week’s case study assignment about “Groupthink” and the symptoms, that Irving Janus identified, as well as countermeasures. Technology has changed the way America do a lot of business. Why go to a retail store when the internet is there to solve the problem. More people are using internet services for personal use everyday such as banking, placing orders, or just shopping. I have done it myself on many occasions especially around the holidays and have paid bills also over the internet. I must say technology has changed my way of doing things. I can use the internet and talk to my son face to face or either on our…

The budget slicing began with Tom Ridge and continued under Chertoff. Rather than try and find a solution by placing the organization’s integrity above job security.
