    Differences in HIV Epidemics between Swaziland and New York City A. Introduction We live in the era of HIV epidemic, and various types of epidemics are seen in the world. New York City (NYC) is one of the city in the United States that has highest prevalence, representing approximately 10 % of national HIV/AIDS prevalence.1 The prevalence rate in NYC is 485.9 per 100,000 person in 2012,2 estimated incidence case in 2012 as 1248,3 and new HIV diagnoses rate in 2011 as 41.6 per 100,000 persons.4 The highest prevalence rate has been seen in Manhattan followed by Bronx; with 865.3 per 100,000 persons and 645.3 per 100,000, respectively.2 Swaziland is one of the most high HIV prevalence country, with its rate as high as 26 % , 31 % in women and 20 % in men, and its incidence as high as 2.9 %.5 Because of that, its HIV/AIDS epidemics has caused attention from all around the world, and many interventions have been done. In this paper, comparison of characteristics of two different epidemics found in NYC and Swaziland is explored. B. Race/ethnicity difference Race/ethnicity difference was seen in NYC epidemic.
