lands was the most interesting to me. Instead of plaques that you could read, it was designed to evoke emotion. The statues that were used were plain and there were no real faces, but the sounds and the stories that were spoken showed the pain and hardship of the removal. Overall, the museum was thorough and informative of the Chickasaw’s history. After the museum, I ventured onto the sky bridge that looked out onto the traditional village replica. It was surrounded by a large stockade fence and dense trees. When I first arrived at the village, I came to the first building which was the council house. It was often used for deliberating war and it had a representation of three chiefs contemplating whether or not they should go into battle. Next, was the four houses that are used in different seasons. There are two summer houses and two winter houses. In the front of the first summer house, there was a workshop where you could make your own arrow head necklace. Next, we looked at the large mound that was a replica of one the Chickasaw people would have and it was where they kept their eternal flame that was kept going all year around until the Green Corn Ceremony. Finally, there was a stick ball field and I got to watch two men throwing a small ball at the top of the pole and they looked like they were very experienced at stick ball. The third and final experience of my tour at the Chickasaw Cultural Center was at the Aaimpa Café. Aaimpa means “a place to eat” in Chickasaw. I…

This perfect weather that allows you to have a cup of hot, black, Colombian coffee while you are sitting outside on the deck of your house. I love to read and I feel that I read a lot more during fall than on any other time of the year. I like to sit outside of my house, with a good book on hand, and see how the leaves from the trees change in color. I love to see them fall as if there is nothing else to worry about. Another aspect that I like during fall season is the clothes people use. I…
