First time flyer I always wanted to be a cheerleader. I loved watching older cheerleaders do stunts, gymnastics and I also liked watching them support their team. At my elementary school, no one was allowed to play sports till you were in third grade. So after waiting five years, I finally got to try out for the cheerleading team. I expected I would be nervous and scared when I got to tryouts. That 's the complete opposite of how I felt. I was so excited to show everyone all the jumps I could do and how great my cartwheel was! The coaches taught us three different cheers that we had to try out with. I learned those much easier than some of the other girls did. After spending two days learning the cheers, it was finally time to show the judges what I had learned. When I stood in front of them as they told me which cheer to do, I just kept thinking to myself, "Remember to smile, make eye contact, and if I mess up just keep going." And that 's exactly what I did. Throughout the whole cheer I kept a big smile on my face, I made sure to look at…

My Junior year of high school, two best friends on my cheerleading team had a falling out and the events between them greatly affected their ability to work together. We were all members of the same stunt group along with another girl who was unaware of the problem. In practice, none of our stunts were working very well because both girls were putting less energy into the lifting me so the other would have to put more into it. I was not aware that they had a falling out, but after being dropped…

Though many pieces of art are beautiful, it is not limited to only this. Art can be horrific, lovely, terrifying, it can be anything someone perceives it as. In The Stunt Pilot, Annie Dillard forms a one-sided bond between a pilot and a member of the audience, through the captivation of her emotions. As the woman watches the plane pirouette towards the ground, she recognizes the pilot’s style as something more than simply flying a plane. She notes that “like any fine artist, he controlled the…

And we've done the same thing in the stunt business. Some of the biggest car crashes that we've set up--Jen{nifer Caputo}, my wife, has been the one crashing the car. When I came into the movie business, I would constantly see this old, macho generation that if there was a woman in a car chase doubling an actress, when it came to the big, heavy crash, they would want to take the woman out and put a guy there. In reality, not only is it wrong morally, I feel, but it's also wrong from a safety and…
