influence on social media (Elliot 2010). Hence, the success of the video was enabled by the select few who have the power to choose what becomes successful, and persuade others to listen to their word. Stickiness Factor Another essential factor in determining whether a trend will reach exponential popularity is what Gladwell terms “the stickiness factor.” This refers to a unique quality that compels the experience to stick in peoples’ minds and influence their behavior. The strategy behind this video was simple; give the audience a satirical representation of Seoul’s elite with ridiculous characters in mostly comical scenarios. Additionally, Gangnam Style’s catchy tune and equestrian-inspired moves helped make it contagious and thereby sticky. Even though the entire song was in Korean and people didn’t know every word to sing along, everybody knew the moves: the lasso, the phantom horse riding and the posing. The bizarre nature of the video also added to the stickiness of this epidemic, as it made it more unique. Gladwell also asserts that stickiness is directly correlated with the impact of small, calculated changes. Hence, when YouTube celebrities began creating parody videos such as Gunman Style and Barely Political were released it gave the work an omnipresent feel, thus making it harder to forget. Moreover, PSY released different versions of his own work with small edits such as the collaboration with famous K-pop star, Hyuna. Power of Context “Epidemics are…

The second mistake is to have a mindset that “the child can decide for themselves about religion and faith” and to back away from clear guidance. Where is…

The book begins with something they like to call, “the not-so-sticky-faith reality.” It lays the foundation for the rest of the book by presenting all of the facts and statistics about the faith in teens in high school verses once they get to and…

When I started editing “Sticky Fins,” I knew I had a lot of work to do, but I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to improve the clarity of the poem so that it communicated the theme of invasiveness. In my final version, “their words,” I think I was able to do this. Although it may seem like a completely different poem at first glance, I used many of the major motifs, images, and themes that were part of the original version. For example, I expanded upon the images of “peanut butter” and…

I went to talk to her but…” “But what?” I…
