Daniels had the whole stage to himself; so this meant he could manoeuvre around and do as much as he wants without anyone in his way. This created a thought-provoking atmosphere because you didn’t know what was coming next… By looking at a nearly empty stage with so little props was significant because during the war everyone had little of everything and it showed solitude. Many scenes cross cut like; the playground, church, isolated war zone etc... The simplicity of the stage was vital; it…

Dustin Mosko directed the production of Fuddy Meers, written by David Lindsay-Abaire and performed by the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, which I attended on October 6, 2015 at 7:30 pm. I enjoyed this play and thought the actors did a wonderful job; I loved the set and the costumes did a wonderful job completing the character. The story was somewhat confusing to keep me engaged, but I feel like that was the goal of the playwright. However, I wasn’t satisfied with the ending. In this…
Introduction I saw Radford University’s production of Junie B. in Jingle bells, Batman smells on Saturday, December 3rd. Junie B. was a popular children’s book by Barbara Parks. Her books have sold over 60 million copies in North America alone and the series was on the New York Times bestseller list for 180 weeks. Parks passed away on Friday, November 15th, 2013. This play was adapted from Park’s 25th book by Allison Gregory and was debuted on November 15th, 2009 and ran until December 27, 2009…
focus, camera, lighting, symbols, speial effects and music among others both positively and negatively. There is overwhelming evidence that music affects media production and audience through presenting the ideas and inspiration, evoking human emotions. The music of the film Valerie and her week of wonders (1970) creatively intertwines with other aspects of entertainment to bring out the spiritual atmosphere, a smooth transitional phase from one theme to another, one emotional stage to another…
This semester, I have seen numerous of productions that were enjoyable and at the same time, shared a common theme towards the end of the play which was there ticket towards freedom. The two productions I thought resemble this includes Father Comes Home from the Wars and the Royale. These two productions had a common connection of racism moments when they were trying to reach freedom. The main character in each of the productions had a difficult time stepping out of their comfort zones due to…
covered a lower portion of the building as well as a balcony upstairs which added additional seating options as well as a lighting and lyric display control center. On the stage, there were three big projector screens with announcements projected onto them with studio lights pointing down upon the stage. The studio lights contained a plethora of colors shinning down onto the stage. On either sides of the worship center, there were stained glass windows with dark blues, yellows, and reds. The…
set was well put. The actors had plenty of room to move and make their choices, and even the sides of the stage I thought would be left out were used quite a bit and very well. The lighting of the space was also very well executed. The choice to make an almost minimal light plot fit incredibly well with the overall dark theme of the play. The time where it was necessary to have the whole stage lit, it obviously was, however the choice of color they chose to be on the background and sides were…
attention on the show for the entire time. LaBord 3 The fifth element to theater is theater space. In this particular production it took place on a proscenium stage. “Future Thinking” did not have many changes in scenery so it was very easy to just change a few things around and everything look different. I believe this was a good decision for a stage for the reasons of everything looked great but also it was all so fast and simple and easy to switch from the interrogation room to Chiara’s…
