The case study that we were required to read was very interesting as it dates back to the early 1900’s. This means we were able to see the culture of the company and how it progressed over a century of time! I’d like, for a second, to take the abstract thought of how this company held on to its beliefs and values even through all the changes and advancements we’ve have in our culture with people’s rights and the change of the cultural norm. It was a time where all minority groups, namely African-Americans and women were treated worse, solely because they differed from the status quo. A book that inadvertently highlighted these misdeeds directed towards minorities through the use of symbolism is John Steinbeck’s novel, “Of Mice and Men.” John Steinbeck’s book follows George Milton, a small, smart, and easily angered man, and Lennie Small, a giant man who has a…
boy in foster care or leave him with his brothers. By the information I have gathered I am leaving Pony boy with his brothers. The reason I am doing this is that he has a stable home, his brothers care for him, and where he can stay with his friends in the environment he has grew up in. Pony boy and his brothers have a stable home. Both of his brothers work and put food on the table every day. Second, they own a home that they cannot be kicked out of. The ringed seal is a key sentinel species for mercury (Hg) contamination in Arctic marine ecosystems. The total mercury concentrations in Arctic ringed seals’ muscle were determined using a cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (CVAFS) instrument. The total mercury concentrations in high ice cover years (2003, 2004 and 2005) were significantly higher than the low ice cover years (2011 and 2012). This suggests that the change in ice-cover significantly changes the total mercury…
