One day, Kenneth Meikle decided to go for a walk with his family and golden retriever, Hendrix around the Overtoun grounds. Little did Meikle know, their day would take a depressing turn. As the family approached Overtoun Bridge, Meikle said his dog started acting strange. Suddenly, Hendrix immediately broke from his leash and leaped off the bridge. Thankfully, Hendrix was not wounded, but was in a severe state of shock (Faraci 3). Overtoun Bridge is a historic bridge in Dumbarton, Scotland. The 19th century castle has been named the “Bridge of Death” for a peculiar reason. Over 50 dogs have jumped to their death from this bridge (“Why Are Dogs Committing Suicide on the Overtoun Bridge” 1). The deaths happen under the same circumstances almost every time. However, some people believe that the dogs jumping are very abnormal. Even though some people do not believe the dogs jumping are more than a coincidence, there are many reasons they are leaping from the bridge. One reason that numerous people believe is that a natural occurring phenomenon is causing the dogs to leap from the bridge. The phenomenon is so strong it is luring the dogs off the bridge. The Overtoun Bridge has an eerie connection to dog suicides. Almost all of the situations have occurred under the same conditions. The dogs always jump between the last two parapets on the right hand side of the bridge. They also jump on clear and sunny days, which is very rare for the western side of Scotland (Grey 1). It is…

Watching the rain fall on “Dancing With the Stars” on Monday night had me a little nervous. Luckily the splashing was kept to a minimum and none of the audience got sprinkles. Still, it made me wonder. What would the producers think of next? Shaking while dancing (like an earthquake), wind (by bringing in dozens of fans) and the biggest possible element could be snow.
