Upon hearing of Iris’ death, the time remnant would grow angry at Barry for allowing her to die. He would then become Savitar in order to further punish the original Barry. He would then kill Iris knowing that he cannot be with her because of the existence of our Barry. This explains several important parts of The Flash’s universe. First of all, this would explain why Savitar did not stop Barry from going to the future to talk to his future self. He wanted future Barry to accidently give our Barry the idea of creating time remnants. In addition, this explains why Barry was not killed by the speed force upon creating time remnants: Killing him would create a time paradox because it would erase Savitar and get rid of Barry’s reason for creating the time remnants as a whole.
