I delivered the ‘Informative Speech’ speech on October 19, 2015. As I was delivering the speech, I noticed that I had strengths with visual aids, a clear presentation, and content. What I think I did well: I think I played long notes well and extended the notes to their full value, for example, in measures 6-8 I didn’t pause in between the half notes. I also think I articulated well because at the slurs I didn’t tongue and on the notes without slurs, I remembered to tongue them. My rate was just right, I had vocal variety in all the right places to emphasize on certain aspects, and used my guitar as a visual aid effectively. Delivering the Pet Peeve speech was on the whole a relaxed and enjoyable experience. When the assignment was first issued, I felt a bit reluctant to deliver the speech; I’m only friends with a handful of students in the class, and probably disliked by the rest, so I couldn’t be confident in having a receptive audience.
