About 9 years after opening Amor Cubano in November 2007, lines still crawl around the block to get in the restaurant. Founders Julio Quevdo, Mario Zarate and the young couple Dailyn Santos and Jorge Davis brings the Hispanic culture back to the corner of 111th street and 3rd Avenue in Spanish Harlem. Amor Cubano is located at this location so far, and Vivian Baquero (associated with the owner) states, “the idea of starting the company was Julio’s and so he got his friends to work with him to make the business survive” and that became the revolutionary start of bringing get together and Cuban culture back to Spanish Harlem.
