    How might conditions for successful fossilization differ between mammals and plants? How might a fossil be formed? What is the difference between mammals and plants being fossilized? What might happen to the fossil? Many things need to happen when mammals and plants fossilize. They cannot be disturbed, it cannot be brought to the surface until completely fossilized, and it depends on where they died. These things are very important when a mammal or plant are being fossilized. The organism cannot be disturbed. When an organism is being fossilized they need to be in “peace”. This is very important because many things could happen if it gets disturbed like a bone could break or the mammal or plant does not fully fossilize. Things that could help an organism not to be disturbed and fully fossilize are, the fossils could form an impression or a mold in the sand or the place they died. Petrification, is (“the process by which organic matter exposed to minerals over a long period of time, it is then turned into a stony substance.”) If the fossil does this and not be disturbed then when the paleontologists find the fossil a hundred years later the remains will be intact/perfect condition. The last thing is per mineralization is, (” A form of fossilization in which minerals are deposited in the pores of bone and similar hard animal part.”) When the plant or animal is being fossilized per mineralization is the main things a fossil needs to have.
