A hate-based society is common in the fictional novel 1984 by George Orwell and in our real world, a hate-based society is not an irrational idea. The idea of a hate-based society is founded on fear, power, and of course, hatred. I happen to believe that a society based off hatred and suffering can survive, but that does not mean I would want to live in that particularly shaped society such as Winston Smith did in 1984. In the novel 1984 by George Orwell, a character named O’brien says, “Old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love and justice. Ours is founded on hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear and rage” (Orwell 230). O’brien is saying that their society is much different from old civilizations that were founded on the opposite of what Oceania was based on—hate. When O’brien asks another…

Succumbing to hatred will only result in failure. Maya Angelou once said, “Hate, it has caused a lot of problems, but has not solved one yet.” Hate has become a term used lightly. Teenage girls are known for their common phrases on hatred: I hate my hair, I hate my clothes, I hate my body. It is a part of our daily routine that needs to be removed. Hatred is a thick black fog encompassing society. Tears, jaws, and hearts drop as bystanders and civilians with their eyes glued to the…

Will it Ever End? One thing that makes me furious is racial terminologies used in the workplace. Hatred in the work force is an unseen virus that spread like wildfire. Some managers expressed freely their personal view and others share comments in a joking matter, either way it is very disrespectful. The inappropriate comments and unfair treatment affect the work performance of an employee. The development of racism has shown face everywhere in today’s society. History has provided appeal…

People come in many shapes and sizes. People tend to quickly assess a person based on what they see, but people are more than just what the outside shows. A person’s appearance does not reveal a person for who they really are. It is normal for people to try and place other people into categories based on several factors. People can be classified into three different categories: race, religion, and personality. The first thing people notice when encountering someone is the person's outward…
