    The head of the organization had sent an email to my head coach asking for help. I was free that day and volunteered to spend a couple hours there. While the adults grilled the food, we worked the shaved ice station making ice, adding the flavors, and collecting money. I really liked being able to put a smile on a a little girl’s face by making her a rainbow snow cone. Overall I had a lot of fun and got to know some of the girls from the volleyball program better that I didn’t really know before. Community service isn’t something that can be forced upon a person, for it to matter and have an affect on them it must be done freely. Although the job can still be completed if you don’t care or don’t want to try, the overall effect on the community is not even close to the same amount that is done by someone who is passionate about what they are doing.
