    Servco Toyota - 34th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival Music is as much a part of Hawaiian culture as the outrigger canoe and the Luau. In fact, from the battlefield to the beaches where feasts have long been held, music has been used to motivate and celebrate. No luau would be complete without a wide variety of Hawaiian slack guitar music. In Hawaiian, the word is "ki-ho'alu", which loosely translates into, "loosen the key" or the loose string style of playing a stringed instrument such as the guitar. The 34th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival ON August the 14th, the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort will host the 34th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival. The event will run from 12 noon until 6 pm and is free and open to all members of the public, both locals and visitors alike. Those who plan to attend can expect to find a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere that perfectly matches the slack key style of guitar playing. This event attracts a number of the finest slack guitar players in the state. It is not a competition, instead, the event is more a celebration of this relaxing form of music.
