Six Degrees of Separation Paper Analysis Six Degrees of Separation focuses on the conflict between Paul, a skilled con artist, and three wealthy families in New York. Louisa and Flan Kittredge are the first family that is visited by Paul by showing up late at night with a wound from a knife. The Kittredges’ hurriedly help the young man as Paul explains that he is a friend of the family’s children in college. He tells stories about the family that only someone that would be close to the children would know.
