    Personal Narrative: Alice

from times long forgotten. Only the very top of the tree, soaring high above the earth, stubbornly held on to no more than three or four small leaves blowing in the warm, lazy breeze. I picked my way awkwardly down the steep hill. My knees bent and legs tense with heavy footsteps trying to avoid falling and rolling down the hill into a tree. I made my way between the tall brush pile that was anxiously waiting for a nice summer day for my mom and I to find the time to set it ablaze. Then there was the old shed. I didn’t dare speak a word, neither did I dare to shed a tear; I knew that I had to stay strong for her. My head was flooding with thoughts; some were about my father’s condition, others were about how lazy I have been around the house. It was time about time I changed. We arrived at the Hospital’s emergency exit, as soon as the automatic doors slide open; the chill in the air sent goosebumps throughout my back, or it might have been the sight of my father’s watch, it was sitting in a basket…
