The following section presents a discussion of the preferred leadership style to a hypothetical situation by determining the best ways to communicate the needed changes to the faculty. Additionally, I will discussed what I will do to be more effective in the styles that are outside of my preferred style. The case study is about a local school who have a high percentage of students failing an introductory course, and as a head of the department, I proposed a change of the school textbook, assessments, and classroom participation requirements. To better prepare the situation, the teachers will have to be aware of the high percentage of students who are failing the initial course. I would schedule a meeting with the teachers to discuss what may have causes students to fail and what can teachers do to better help the students. During this time, I will allow teachers to voice their opinions and provide suggestions to help students succeed. By doing so, this will develop a relationship and build trust between both parties. As a result, the leadership style “Selling” will be appropriate to use since there is an establishment of bonding, and I may sell or coach them that by changing the school textbook, students may do well in their introductory course. We will not know, if do not try the new textbook. Next, a change of assessments is needed to address the high percentage of failing students. Are the assessments too difficult for students at that grade level? Are the questions…

Plays present a unique approach to story telling over typical novels. The little things, like the use of stage directions can dramatically alter the interoperation when reading a play. This gives the author a lot of power to tell a great story and have control over its interpretation. One of my favorite examples of a well written play is “The Farnsworth Invention” by Aaron Sorkin. This play is a fiction interpretation of the battle of inventing television. You have boy genius Philo Farnsworth…
