looking for a song that was about a girl and a grave. Spencer knew what songs she was looking for. So she asked him to sing it to her so he did. Overall this book was not one I really liked at all. I read it, but I really didn't enjoy it that much. I am not a big fan of historical, realistic fiction which is what this book is. Although there were somethings I did like about the book like the author Sharyn McCrumb is a direct descendant of Malcolm McCourry. Another reason was that the book and the events were set in North Carolina, Tennessee, and even Virginia. Which is where we live and place we are familiar with. Eldridge McCourry is actually McCrumbs great-grandfather. There were a lot of creepy and weird things in this book also. Like the “ghost” Joe LeDonne saw up on the mountain. Another was Bonnie the “ghost” who died in a plane crash and wanted Lark's song. Probably the most unusual thing in the entire book was when Malcolm married Sally when she was only fifteen and he was in his mid to late fifties.
