    Yugoslavia was composed of 6 different Republics (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia) and 7 different ethnic groups( Bosniaks, Croats, Slovenes, Serbs, Montenegrins, Macedonians, Albanians) which were apart of Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1991. Yugoslavia was held together and was under the rule of a communist leader named Josip Broz Tito. From 1945 until his death in 1980 he was able to run the country under peace and great economic prosperity. He was able to keep all the ethnic groups at peace who had always had bad blood between each other. Once Marshall Tito died the country remained at peace for another 11 years, with adapting the system of a rotating presidency.
