Dear City Council Member Mark Squilla, I’m writing to you today because of my concern about the way SEPTA runs. Many philadelphia citizens take public transportation daily. We trust that the system will get us to our destination. I have seen that recently over a couple of years that people feel angered by SEPTA. I think the anger comes from the delays, the detours, the wait time and the physical condition of the buses and trains. The buses are old and do not run very fast at times. The condition of the interior of the bus is questionable with seats being dirty and stained. Sometime there are delays that occur while there are people on the train or bus. In 2015, it said that one in five trains are late. Those trains are expected to come on…
The Frankford Avenue Commercial Corridor runs along Frankford Avenue, a major north-south corridor and the site of the Market-Frankford Line Elevated Structure, from Orthodox Street in the south to Bridge Street in the North. The corridor features two traffic lanes – one northbound and one southbound – as well as two parking lanes. The traffic lanes feature Bicycle sharrow icons to facilitate road sharing across modes. Frankford is a working-class neighborhood that depends on a few key…
EVALUATION After having my Music Teacher Susie suggest recording an album for my Music Individual Study, I modified the idea to an EP in order to fit time constraints and increase the quality of the songs. R2 This goal was of particular interest to me as I am interested in the recording process and want to do it later in life. I wrote, recorded and produced an EP consisting of five tracks with a cover and booklet. I journaled this process in order to display my progress and development and…
in patients with chronic hepatitis C[9],The latest technological advance in this setting is the measurement of liver stiffness by means of ultrasound elastography[10]. Elastography is arapid painless technique with immediate results, itestimates liver stiffness by measuring thevelocity of elastic shear waves in the liver parenchyma producedby the mechanical push. The propagation velocity isdirectly related to the stiffness of the medium[11]. Different levels of fibrosis exist which in…
harsh birth, one that left the young queen Cersei unable to lift her head, a tiny weak girl child was born. None thought the babe would live, Cersei certainly hoped so, her first born daughter was indeed a Baratheon, thick black hair already sprouting on her small head. Queen Cersei Lannister would not look upon the babe for many days after the birth many thought the babe may be a dwarf – others thought her to be deformed. The truth was that she was a pie-faced babe, never laughing; only…
The culture topic for the Culture Project is Mexico City’s Metro the transportation system in Mexico. This system is responsible for transporting the citizens of Mexico where they need to go on the bus or on the subway. This service could be similar to the Septa system in Pennsylvania. I think that these are similar to to the fact that they have similar systems of transportation such as bus and railway. Researching this information for the project helps me to appreciate the Spanish language and…
caused his sister, Daenerys not only loved Viserys as her brother but as the true king as well, up until his death. By calling Viserys an imitation dragon, she is saying that he was no true king at all. A dragon cannot die from fire as Viserys did. In the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, proclaiming yourself a king without claim, or a usurper, is outrageous and will breed little support for your claim to the throne. Daenerys is calling her brother a usurper because he is not a true Targaryen. It…
the four lower corners of this hangs a short pedalium or stalk which bears one or more long, slender, hollow tentacles. The rim of the bell is folded inwards to form a shelf known as a velarium which restricts the bell's aperture and creates a powerful jet when the bell pulsates. As a result, box jellyfish can move more rapidly than other jellyfish; in fact, speeds of up to six meters per minute have been recorded. In the center of the underside of the bell is a mobile appendage called the…
society and world, it is clear that they are both still at least partially dependent on railroads. Railroads are still being used by people who need to commute to their workplace. This is because those that own the railroads learned from Vanderbilt and capitalized on people’s needs, in this case to go to work and commute, to make money. While they are not being used as much by farmers, they are now actually being used by the common person. Many people in today’s society rely on a train to get to…
