Lincoln Motor Company. ""Bull" Matthew McConaughey and the MKC: Official Commercial." YouTube. YouTube, 4 Sept. 2014. Web. 11 Oct. 2015. This commercial starts with a view of a bull standing in the middle of the road in a dessert area. Then the camera cuts to a shot of Mathew McConaughey sitting inside of a Lincoln MKC saying, “That’s a big bull.” Throughout the commercial McConaughey continues to narrate as the camera moves showing the entire vehicle. He then says “1800 pounds of do whatever the heck I want.” This commercial is comparing this large bull to the car that they are advertising. As McConaughey continues to speak and then puts his car in reverse and then goes the opposite direction. As the car is driving away the Lincoln symbol pops up, then followed by the words, “The First-Ever Lincoln MKC.” Then as those words fade away the words “Live in Your Moment” appear with a #INTHEMOMENT at the bottom of the screen. This is trying to appeal to people through social media, wanting them to stay involved with the company. Lincoln uses this analogy to compare their car to a strong and built bull. For this brand, the target audience is mostly upper class working men. This commercial like many others by Lincoln use an extremely successful and famous actor, Matthew McConaughey, to sell their product. This commercial is biased to Lincoln because Lincoln is the company that produced the advertisement saying that their cars can compete with a bull. This is an appeal to ethos…

Sighing deeply I locked my gaze on the sizable red dirt hill before me. A gust of dry heat hit me with a cloud of dust that burned my eyes, I cleared my throat with a small cough. Now my head fully fixated on the ground as I trekked up the hill. To trip on the rocky unbalanced road would not only be dangerous, but also thoroughly embarrassing if seen by my eighteen mission trip team members who followed behind me. This trip to Haiti was my third, I had walked this road many times before, but…

Crimson Peak by Guillermo Del Toro is a visually stunning and technical masterpiece. It has taken me a while to perceive it as that. As a viewer who has been exposed to the trailer before watching the movie, I left the theater disappointed and wanting more out of this horror movie. It wasn’t till plenty of research that I found that Crimson Peak is in fact not a horror movie. Correct, but is it any surprise that the director of Hellboy, Pan’s Labrynth, and the Devil’s Backbone, was able to…

something that only the young are able to do, however, its also arguable that in Jane Yolen’s, “Briar Rose”, Gemma relied on counterfactual thinking about her experiences during the Holocaust that her story has come out as a fairy tale to her grandchildren. Her eyes allow her to see things real and unreal, visible and invisible. Adults have a tendency to want to see things how they really are rather than finding other ways about it.
