Scott Pilgrim has lived his mediocre life day by day, playing in his garage band and sharing a bed with his roomate. To say the least he has little to no excitement in his life, however, shortly after Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010) begins, Scott meets the literal girl of his dreams. Shortly after scoring a date with the girl he learns that there may be much more to her than he thought. The film amazingly creates comedy when Scott battles the “seven evil exes” to win his dream girl. There are many elements in film style that make a film comedy. Sound, editing, cinematography, and narrative all combine to give a film what it needs to make the audience smile and laugh. In Scott Pilgrim vs The World (Edgar Wright, 2010), all these…

The first time I viewed the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, it stayed in my thoughts for at least a week. As it may come off quite comical and seemingly too quirky, the story incases a message grasping the theme of undying love. The main character, Scott, first comes to terms with his superficial relationship with his adorable, yet naive girlfriend, Knives Chao. His passion for music and his alternative rock band then leads him to the other protagonist, Ramona, the heartthrob. From the moment…

While Shaun of the Dead has some instances of music use similar to that of Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs The World can also be compared. Scott Pilgrim, unlike any other Edgar Wright film, is a comic book adaptation and is set in Canada, which differs greatly from the particularly British setting and plot points of his previous films. While not culturally or geographically similar to Baby Driver’s Atlanta setting, it does show that Edgar Wright has long been capable of telling stories outside of…

Scott Pilgrim vs. Aeneas Heroes come from many different places. On one hand, they may come from a place like ancient Rome. On the other hand, they may come from a place that is more familiar, such as present-day Toronto. Though the Aeneid and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World are two completely different stories, comparisons can be made between the two main characters, Aeneas and Scott Pilgrim. The first point of comparison is the nature of the two heroes’ quests. When Troy is getting attacked by…

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was a unique film in the sense of its feel to virtual reality. The main strategies used to construct the film were visual and audio effects, editing, and music. The narrative was linear and had a few narrators to tell the story. The film had some traditional and non-traditional elements to contrast with other narrative films. film. It starts off with an amazing credit intro that would even have made Quentin Tarantino blush. That reason would be because Tarantino and many other directors would help fellow director Edgar Wright with this movie.
