Polling and modeling/simulation are futuring techniques that are attracting attention in recent times. Polling is a technique that involves consulting experts in a particular field to develop an understanding of the future projections in that field. Consulting experts has been practiced since time immemorial to obtain trustworthy or expert opinions on a subject matter. Often, experts have the relevant knowledge needed as they have practiced in a particular sector or life science for a long time. Although it might be difficult to get the appropriate experts willing to assist in future analysis, it is worthwhile to endeavor in the search. Developments in the acquisition of experts have led scientists to create a polling process known as Delphi pollster. The process contributes to validity and reliability of experts’ contribution by keeping their responses anonymous and separate to reduce social influences (Cornish, 2014).
