    The religious belief system of Satanism has been around since the fourteenth hundreds- around the time of Louis XIV- but, unsurprisingly, has never had a very large following. Satanism sprung up with fervor around the 1970’s, led by rebelling youth determined to appall their parents. However, it wasn’t until the year 1966 that the Church of Satan was officially founded by Anton LaVey in an effort to gather the worshippers around a Satan-lead theme.
