Khaled Hosseini was born March 4, 1965 in Kabul, Afghanistan and lived there until he was five, when they moved to Iran. When he was eleven, his father got a job in Paris, France and they moved there. They never returned to Afghanistan due to the Saur Revolution and they sought political asylum in America.
