Jack Benny was an American comedian that performed in vaudeville, radio, television, and motion picture. He was known as the leading American entertainer of the 20th Century. His main character portrayal was a miser that played his violin badly. Ironically, he was actually very good at playing the violin. Jack was known for his perfect comedic timing. His career spanned over 50 years. Jack Benny’s birth name was Benjamin Kubelsky. He was born on February 14, 1894 in Chicago, Illinois. Both of his parents, Meyer Kubelsky and Emma Sachs Kubelsky, were Jewish immigrants. Jack didn’t want to be part of his father's business so his parents encouraged him to learn the violin instead. He had a natural talent for music and he was known in his hometown for being so good at the violin. Jack did very poorly in school which resulted in him getting expelled. Eventually, he started playing the violin at local vaudeville theaters for $7.50 a week. During World War I, Jack enlisted in the Navy and started performing at camps. His early performances weren’t too good so he started telling jokes instead. The other enlisted men really enjoyed his jokes. Personally, I think he just loved making others laugh, much like many other comedians. He then returned to vaudeville as a comedian and focused lees on his violin. With time, Jack perfected his comedy. He developed a very likeable stage persona. Jack Benny recognized that vaudeville was not as big as it used to be so he made the transition to…

Visiting the PEM museum and discovering Gardner Pingree house and the Yin Yu Tang house, I learned many things throughout my whole experience. The Gardener's Pingree House was from U.S.A and the Yin Yu Tang House was from China. The Yin Yu Tang house was a Chinese house whose owner was a late dynasty merchant. The house was originally…
