typically brought against women in the NCAA are significantly more pronounced at the professional level. In this manner, the assistant coach position is the dominant role that women are given, which is reflected in the example of Becky Hammon at the Sacramento Kings. More so, Hammon’s success is a reflection of the ongoing problem of sexism in the NCAA: On Tuesday, the San Antonio Spurs hired Becky Hammon as an assistant coach, making her the first female full-time member of an NBA coaching staff. These opportunities show a slowly increasing role for women as coaches in the NBA, yet the collegiate opportunities are dwindling. This conundrum…

Intro The San Antonio Spurs will face off against the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference semi-finals in a battle for Texas. If you told me we would get a James Harden vs. Kawhi Leonard matchup in the second round, I’d gladly accept it. Two of the top five MVP candidates will go head to head, in what should be a great and entertaining series. If the regular season is any indication, then this series will be extremely close and go down to the wire. All four of their regular season games…

He caught the ball with eight seconds left in the game. A defender ran towards him, one hand in the air to try to block the shot. As he jumped up, the entire crowd held their breaths. Everything was moving in slow motion; his arm extended and the ball spun out of his hand, gliding up into an arc headed towards the hoop.
