begin to follow your nose, which leads you to a small local restaurant. You walk in and are submerged in different scents. You and your friend decide to take a seat and sit for a spell. As your eyes graze over the menu, you munch on some chips and salsa. You order something tasty when the waitress comes back to your table. After a little while, your food comes out smelling terrific. As you savor every bite, your mind wanders to the history of the delicious cuisine. You then go home and begin to…
The things that I see that reminds me of Miami are the guys shaking maracas and dancing salsa. Best known for the “Conga line “. That is a line with people dancing and moving around the room or if your outside, don’t let it stop! Another thing is the snakes as fashion accessories. People have a lot of courage to put that huge snack around…
As a volunteer for P.R.E.P. Club, at Club Rush, my experiences were incredibly insightful. I learned to release my fear of introducing myself to students I don't know. After my endeavors as a volunteer, I came to the eye-opening realization that interaction is not something to be afraid of. While serving as a volunteer, I strived to assist members from my club set up our table, met a lot of new people, and enjoyed socializing with some familiar faces. Some photographers even noticed how much fun…
arrived around one in the afternoon and were surprised to find that the customers were few and far between. We were seated immediately, and our server, Juan, was at our table within seconds. He brought with him three baskets of chips and three bowls of salsa. Our food arrived at our table about ten minutes after we ordered. The food was fantastic, and the proportions were huge. So much so that the leftovers were boxed up and gladly gobbled up for dinner that night. That along with the…
beautiful women who seem to be enjoying his company as he tells his stories on what makes him so interesting. The ad states “Being Boring is a Choice. Those Mild Salsas and Pleated Khakis Don’t Buy Themselves.” That statement is telling its consumers to not live boring lives by getting mild salsa when you can live dangerously and get a hotter salsa. Dos Equis persuades consumers to drink its beer, if it is drank by the most interesting man in the world then it must be good. Dos Equis tries to…
I had the pleasure of eating at the Rio Mirage restaurant in El Mirage, Arizona a week ago on Saturday, October 3rd 2015. From the outside, the restaurant does not appear to have much to offer. An orange painted stucco building with a couple of plants, and a parking lot in need of some repair. Upon entering the restaurant it has the feel of traditional Mexico which includes, brick lined walls with traditional Mexican artwork and color schemes. A comprehensible view of the Rio Mirage restaurant…
The live performance I attended took place at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida on November 20. This place is well known for its nightlife scene and endless entertainment options and live concerts, however this specific night something major was about to happen for all of us from the Cuban community. It was the first time that young Cuban musicians from different musical backgrounds, would come to U.S and offer a huge concert, all together on the same scenario. There was…

In, "Planet Taco: A Global History of Mexican Food," student of history and creator Jeffrey M. Pilcher contends that globalization has been inconvenient, and extended Mexican sustenance. He went to this well known fast-food chain to complexity it, to a nearby taco truck to see which one was really fast…
1. My favorite genre of dance would have to be Cumbia. Cumbia is a kind of “street” dance of Colombian origin, similar to salsa. According to the definitions in the book and on the Powerpoint for this chapter I think this genre has a persistent beat of a hand drum and a shaker so it would be best if it was informal because it is encouraged to sings and dance along to this beat. This genre involves a lot of spinning and moves that shake your whole body. Appropriate behavior would be to dance,…
