    Salmonellosis is a type of infectious disease that is caused by a bacteria of the Salmonella genus, which is named after its discoverer, a scientist called Dr. Salmon. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Salmonellosis is very common and causes about 1.2 million cases in the United States each year. Although the disease seems to be common and harmless, it could also be deadly, in some severe cases, when the bacteria spreads from the host’s intestines to the bloodstream to other parts of the body without the presence of antibiotics.
