    Misty Copeland was born on September 10, 1982 in Kansas City, Missouri. Misty Copeland endured a tumultuous home life to dance, eventually she began to study under California ballet instructor Cindy Bradley. Misty joined the studio company of American Ballet Theatre in 2000, becoming a soloist several years later an starring in an array of productions such as The Nutcracker and Firebird. An icon whose star shines beyond the world of classical dance, in late June 2015 Misty became the first African American women performer to be appointed as an ABC principal dancer in the company’s decades of long history. I chose to read this book because I found it was interesting by just reading the back of the book. Also, I have never done ballet so I thought it found be fun and interesting to read about. Last, the setting was takes place in Kansas City at her home and also in Los Angeles where she performs. The name of the book is Life In Motion written by: Misty Copeland. The genre of this book is nonfiction/ biography because Misty is talking about things that happened in her life in the book. Narrator’s point of view in this book is first person. For example, “ I didn’t bother to put on pajamas, I lay where I was and fell asleep, knowing that I’d never again return to the room.” This represents that the narrator is talking in first person because she is telling the reader things she wouldn’t do.
