I watched the play on December 6, 2015 at the Pierce College Arts Building. The play was directed Anita Adcock, who did great job setting the play as she intended it to be. Everything from the costumes, the lighting, to the typecasting was excellently produced. Particularly, the set design was able to greatly express the theme of the play. The setting mainly…

Prince Gabriel Wylie enters the assembly room, surrounded by members of his council, Kingsman, and family; draped in royal purple robes made from the finest silk and wool. The hall was a mixture of elegance and refinement, furnished in red and white linens with flowers and candles, a complete contrast to its appearance just a few hours prior. A long velvet mat parted the floor with nobles standing on the opposite sides of it. An older man with pure white hair, wearing religious robes, holding…

one sees a once noble man succumb to greed and power. Throughout the story, Macbeth always seems to have free will in every situation, yet always chooses the option better suited for his personal gain. assumptions about it? That is what happened to me. I recently read Tartuffe by Moliere, after my first read of the story, I thought it was not relatable, virtually impossible to ever happen, and just not funny. However, after understanding the cultural background, the life experiences of the author, and the author’s purpose for writing these stories, I now see this literary work as a strong satire that is relatable and very well could happen to anyone today. After reading Tartuffe for…
