    There are many people in American history, but some of them really stand out from others. Ray Kroc is one of those people, he is known for accomplishing great things and if you opened a history book, he would most likely be in there. By exploring his childhood, the struggles he overcame, and his achievements, it will become evident that Ray Kroc Founded one of the most successful fast food restaurants. Ray Kroc (Raymond Albert Kroc) was born on October 5, 1902 in Oak Park, Illinois to Rose and Louis Kroc. When Ray Kroc was a kid, his dad took him to a phrenologist, and the phrenologist claimed he would have a future in the foodservice industry.He would also work at places that sell and make food as a kid.In 1917, at the end of his sophomore year, Kroc dropped out of Oak Park high school to participate in World War I as a Red Cross ambulance driver, lying about his age to begin serving at 15. During his training, he met Walt Disney, with whom he would maintain a professional relationship for most of his life. After the armistice in 1918, he returned to Oak Park intent on completing high school, but after one frustrating semester he gave up on school for good.Kroc explored a number of career options, including paper cup salesman, pianist, and disc jockey on a local Oak Park radio station.
