Harrison, Cameron Professor Rios English 1 1 December 2017 Research Essay: Trophy Hunting Imagine you’re in your front yard and all of a sudden someone with a large gun walks up and shoots you, then takes your head and mount it over their fireplace to advertise for all their guests to see. People actually do that to animals just for fun and because they can. Trophy Hunting is “a legal form of wildlife hunting in which ‘sportsmen’ pay large sums of money for the right to kill animals and take…
Plate tectonics is the belief the lithosphere is separated into a few dozen plates that move around across the earth 's surface relative to each other, like big pieces of ice on a lake. If we were able to lay the earth flat to see where the plates were positioned, it would have the appearance of an orange peel; with the earth 's crust as the orange color shell and the white as the lithosphere. The break points would be fault lines, the plate’s outer perimeter that aligns and intersects them.…
"insensitive", when actually they are every bit as sensitive as women. What we see as rebelliousness, is really a guy without a clue to accessing his feelings. If you want to watch your man 's eyes glaze over with about as much comprehension as a rhinoceros, ask him – how are you feeling? The same applies to all questions of an emotional nature. If he remains silent, he 's not ignoring the question; he is processing what you said and trying to get in touch with his feelings. Slow down. Don…
On February 23, I had to opportunity to see the new Black Panther Movie, and I thought it was good, with a really good line here and there, but it was not anything spectacular. I am sure, though, that it will be a better live action Lion King adaptation than the one coming out with Beyoncé in it, as the plot of Black Panther mirrors the original Lion King. The Acting was good, as good as we have come to except from a Marvel movie, but nothing ground breaking. Chadwick Boseman and Letitia Wright…
which was rather exotic and filthy, was like a foreign country to van Gogh. In a letter Vincent said “The Zouaves, the brothels, the adorable little Arlesiennes going to their First Communion, the priest in his surplice, who looks like a dangerous rhinoceros, the people drinking absinthe, and all seem to me creatures from another world.” Clearly van Gogh felt like a total outsider. One of his most famous paintings was from his time in Arles, It is named “Bedroom in Arles.” I find a lot…

The world of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the world of C.S Lewis’ Narnia are both filled with an immense number of fantastic creatures. In case of Rowling, many of these creatures are mythical animals-- centaurs, hippogriffs, goblins and unicorns to name a few- while Lewis mainly chooses to add mythical abilities to every-day animals. His Narnia consists of talking beavers, lions, and of course a few mythical animals such as fauns. Both worlds involve interaction between the non-human animals…
Paul Farmer once proclaimed, “The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world.” This quote is deeper than what is observed on the surface. This quote means that no matter race, gender, and yes species, that everyone is created equal. Just because they are animals and they do not have the voice to speak their mind, people have the power to stand for them. The lives of these beautiful wonders are no less than the value of human lives. Zoo’s first got their…
