way of teaching married couples that the best environment to raise a happy and healthy family is by staying together. It is important for couple’s marriage to last mainly for the well-being of children. It is recognized that divorce can have strong effects on children 's lives, such as behavioral and emotional problems. Gottman 's research design and measurement procedures used multiple methods to be able to measure the couple’s progression on his study. His method included questionnaires, and observation of the interactive behavior of couples. Each couple first encountered a questionnaire and answered a “demographic questionnaire.” Then each couple that was selected to join participated in a three discussions occurrence that had happened that day and was videotaped. The discussion topics usually caused disagreement and the other focused on a positive topic. I consider that the experimental design was satisfactory, by them using a longitudinal study with repeated measures which it only required a small number of participants. Even though Gottman 's design was good I consider there are some limitations. The repeated measures design has a limited group sample and has the same subjects over the investigation, and there is a lack of a control group where there is no means of comparison between studies. Therefore, it faces some disadvantages. For example, a subject may drop out of the study, causing the sample group to become small and making it have no statistical…

In the area of topology, Lebesgue is known for his covering theorem which is used for finding the dimensions of a set. He is also credited for his work on the Fourier series. He was able to demonstrate that using term by term integration of a series that were Lebesgue integrable functions was always valid and therefore, gave validation to Fourier’s proof of his series. What is now considered to be one of Lebesgue’s greatest contribution was his work with the Riemann integral. Before his work,…

Psychologist Mary Ainworth developed a theory on the importance of the varying types of attachment between caregiver and child through experimental research in 1969. As everyone was thrust to the side of the compartment, the wood began to splinter, causing a apprehensive uproar. “Surely it’s going to give way,” one voice said, waveringly. “Who cares… we’re all going to die anyways,” another retorted direly. Many doleful comments followed, but Elise couldn’t bear it anymore. Shoving her way to the spot closest to the splintering plank of wood, Elise took a shaky breath.
