Flooding due to climate change will affect and has affected the Great Lake Regions. The Chequamegon Bay area is located in Lake Superior. Ashland and Bayfield counties in the State of Wisconsin surround the bay. This area takes in large amounts of rainwater run off from streams, rivers and towns. Today we planted around 100 mangrove plants in tidal swamp. The area has been taken over by invasives recently, which outcompetes the mangroves that are so vital to the ecosystem. The mangroves provide habitat for many species of birds and fish, unlike the invasive plant.
