Red Dead Redemption

While I sit here playing Red Dead Redemption by Rockstar San Diego it reminds of a lot of action adventure games. The game resembles any other game I have played, but the animations during the hunting sense are something to be seen. My character is equipped with a carbine rifle that he uses to hunt a variety of animals. The hunting aspect of the game is so appealing; in fact, it I was so overcome by it that I lost focus of what my other objectives where. Red Dead Redemption, not only allows the player to shoot your prey, but the player can also skin and harvest prey, and it’s the harvesting that makes the hunting so rewarding this game. The player is rewarded trophies for their skilled hunting, the trophies are not that significant, but they added value to the act of hunting they signified what a great hunter could achieve. This alone is sufficient enough to differentiate Red Dead Redemption from that of Grand Theft Auto (GTA). The Grand Theft Auto games allow the player to interact in the open world in similar ways, but GTA lacks the structure Red Dead Redemption.
