    the limb with a borrowed chainsaw, the most unexpected thing happened. The home owner cut through the limb in a matter of a few minutes. The wife had positioned herself behind her husband and with both hands on the ladder to steady him as he had cut the limb. The limb cut free from the tree, struck the roof of the house, rolled slightly and plunged to the ground, exactly where the wife had been standing. The wife was driven to the concrete driveway, her head crushed by the full weight of the limb as it practically upended and drove itself straight down. The coroner of the county pronounced an accidental death caused by blunt force trauma to the cranium. Tree service can appear to be falsely simple. It’s just a matter of a cut here and a little bit of patience. Every year that simple thought on the minds of house owners causes severe injuries and deaths. Tree trimming is a technical and dynamic series of angles and weight and wind and restraints and speed ratios that can be difficult for even the most experienced arborists. Sawing a limb is much more than pruning a branch or splitting firewood for the fireplace.
