was actually very excited to go the supermarket because she saw in the local newspaper advertisement that they would be selling "exotic food" such as her foreign culture's classic food; ginger, daikon, and udon. As she pushed the heavy half glass half oak doors open she immediately felt all eyes were on her and her son. She walked to the produce to try and find the new goods that the store was selling. While walking, she passed by a big double chinned white shelf stocker. She smiled at him and said a heavily accented "Good morning." The worker gave her a cold blank stare with his grey eyes in return. "They all hate me." She thought while trying not to bust out crying. After searching around the section she finally found a daikon radish. Now she could finally make real Japanese style pickles. As she walked she went through the process of making them in her head she soon found herself in the frozen aisle. This aisle always captivated her because back home everything was always fresh and not in a package. It amazed her that people could eat things that have mystery meat and have been frozen for who knows long. When passing by this section she always walked down it very slowly to engulf herself with the American food. She would always think that maybe if she was seen here people would think she was American also. While gazing at the frozen meatloaf and swanson tv dinners as if by fortuitous her son bumped into a slender white lady with perfect makeup, pearls, and…

This experiment is important because if something happens and radish seeds are exposed to microwave radiation people would be able to know if the radishes would germinate if they knew the time they…

Plants get mass from the air, specifically carbon dioxide. The results from both VonHelmont's experiment and the radish seed experiment support this idea. In VonHelmont’s experiment, the plant gained 164 pounds in 5 years while the soil only lost 2 ounces in weight. These results reveal that a plant does not receive its mass from soil. The roots of the plant absorbed water from the soil in order to photosynthesize causing the soil to lose 2 ounces overtime. In the radish seed experiment, the…

The original hypothesis, “If ascorbic acid has positive effects on radish seed germination, then radish seeds germinated with ascorbic acid concentrations of 0, 100, 300, and 500 parts per million (ppm) solutions will exhibit longer seed radicles (measured in millimeters) than control seeds germinated in distilled water alone” was incompletely supported. For example, Graph 1 shows the Control trial achieved the greatest average length (31.5 mm) by the end of the experiment in comparison to all…
