television, in the movies. Cliques are anywhere and everywhere. A main example of cliques is in the movie Mean Girls, Northshore High School (the school in which the movie is set ) has cliques everywhere. The main character, Cady, is invited to join the Plastics. The Plastics is the group of the most popular girls in school. They are the girls everyone wants to be. Their leader Regina George is ruthless. She is the stereotypical blonde, skinny, pretty, prom queen girl. In the beginning of the movie Cady befriends another clique, who is considered on the bottom of the high school food chain, before being asked to join the Plastics. Cady turns on her original friends while in the Plastics and almost loses their friendship which is one that would last post high school. Cady learns throughout the movie that cliques destroy friendships. Regina and another girl from the other clique were friends before high school, but they went their separate ways and began to hate each other. In the end of the movie Cady wins Spring Fling queen and gives a speech about how everyone is pretty and how they shouldn’t be divided by cliques and so on. In the last scene of the movie it shows everyone getting along and the cliques, including the Plastics, have dissolved. Cliques can destroy people. They can destroy personalities and friendships. In the essay, she states “cliques are sophisticated, complex, and multilayered, and every girl has a role within them.” This demonstrates that although it may seem cliques are very simple, they are actually very conglomerate. In social cliques there are positive and negative roles that a person can have. The sidekick is a negative role; whereas, the floater is a positive role. There are…

being friends with the Plastics. Although Mean Girls is over dramatic and embellished, it does shed light on issues many high schoolers face while trying to grow up and find their self. Mean Girls is a lighthearted film that brings joy and laughter to the viewer. The film also brings up important communication issues and struggles that many face in their lifetime. I chose this film because Cady Heron ultimately does what every high schooler dreams of doing, discovering who they are. Analysis:…

Wiseman covered concepts pertaining to Mental and Emotion Health, Communication/ Conflict Management, Family Life and Human Sexuality, and Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs; all of which are part of…
