few challenging aspects of social media but when it all comes together, I would say the biggest challenge is competition. As positive as social media is, it is constantly creating competition between people. One example is that social media puts pressure on people for the way they look. Social media has put this ideal image of people and people are always trying to live up to this image, which can create personal issues. Another example is bullying, which is constantly happening because of social media. People aren’t afraid to say hurtful things when they are behind a screen and they have an easy way of showing this through social media sites. Another thing is you have to make sure you separate the personal from the professional information. In the blog by Evan LePage, “A Brand of One: On Social Media Branding For Professionals” I have learned that “you need to be aware of this whether your existing profiles on each social network are public”. Keep things private, and if you want to use social media for a professional purpose, make a separate profile. I really enjoyed this class because of multiple reasons.
