The protagonist in the book The Power of Ethical Management is constantly being faced with difficult situations. Through his struggles, he has learned to take the advice of others who have strong ethical powers, whether it be within his company, or outside of his company. At his current employment, he is constantly pressured by high management to increase sales and productivity no matter the cost. Stressed and confused he searches for answers. Through an old acquaintance he learns of the “Five Principles of Ethical Power; purpose, pride, patience, persistence, and perspective” (Blanchard & Norman, 43).
